There are moments in life when we face difficult decisions, challenges, and uncertainties. During these trying moments, we often question or doubt God’s plans for us and his presence in our lives. Scriptures on surrendering to God help in moments of doubt and hardship.
What does surrendering to God mean? Surrendering to God entails putting our complete trust in the Almighty believing that he knows what is best for us. By trusting God, we submit our troubles, cares, and situations to Him, knowing that He will work for us and also obey His commands.
In Genesis 12, we read about Abraham who surrendered his will to God when he left his homeland in obedience to God’s calls. Abraham trusted in God’s promise to make him the father of many nations which came to be later on.
The story of Mary the mother of Jesus is another great example of surrendering to God. Mary, surrendered to God’s will when she accepted the angel Gabriel’s message that she would conceive and give birth to the Messiah, despite the social and personal challenges entailed. In Luke 1: 38, Mary answered the angel Gabriel,” I am the Lord’s servant, “May your word to me be fulfilled.”
