According to the Bible, significant events will happen in the last days leading up to the return of Christ, the final judgement, the defeat of evil, and the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom where peace and righteousness will reign.
While some of the details described in the scriptures about end times are quite unsettling, their primary aim is not to scare Christians but rather encourage them to honor God in their actions and to repent, knowing that they will give an account for their deeds when Christ returns, whenever that may be.
From signs of the last days that we should watch out for, to a description of what will happen during the judgment day, these Bible verses about the last days remind us to hold on to our faith and live justly as we await the triumphant return of Christ.
“In the Last Days” Bible Verses
Matthew 24:3-14
“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’ Jesus answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you… You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom… There will be famines and earthquakes in various places… Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.'”
