In our journey through life, we may sometimes go through numbing sadness. While it is normal to feel sad at times, an extended period of sadness can lead to total despair, depression, a feeling of helplessness, and in some cases, even giving up on life.

In the Bible, we find stories of people who went through deep sadness. For instance, Elijah faced severe depression and sadness after defeating the prophets of Baal. He went as far as praying to God to take his life. In 1 Kings 19:4, he says;’ It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!’
