From feeling different from others, trying too hard to fit in with the crowd, or simply facing huge disappointment, we’ve all had low points in life where we have had to struggle with our identities and stay true to our purpose in life.
The good news is that we are not alone and some of the greatest men in the Bible struggled with their identity too. Take Moses, for instance. He struggled to accept his role as the leader of the Israelites because initially, he did not consider himself worthy enough for that position.
When God called him in Exodus chapters 3 and 4, Moses presented several reasons why he felt unworthy including his speech impediment and his lack of eloquence. At one point, he even asked God to send somebody else in his place.
Eventually, as we know, Moses accepted his calling and embraced his identity. He went on to be one of the greatest leaders mentioned in the Bible and all these happened after he embraced his identity.
Through these 50 Bible verses about identity, we are reminded that every one of us is worthy in God’s eyes despite our differences and shortcomings.
We were all created in His image and likeness, we are His children, and through Christ, we have been saved and have a place in the kingdom of heaven.
